The Pleasing x Marco Ribeiro Pressed Powder Pigments and Gloss Medium Review
The Pleasing by Harry Styles x Marco Ribeiro – Makeup Collaboration
I’ve been curious about Harry Styles’ beauty brand—Pleasing—for a good while now. I finally had the opportunity to try out the eyeshadow palette and Gloss Medium for review.
The Pleasing x Marco Ribeiro collaboration piqued my interest because of its unique color story, product design, and packaging. Without further ado, let’s dig in!
The Pleasing by Harry Styles x Marco Ribeiro Pressed Powder Pigments Review
There’s so much to like about The Pleasing x Marco Ribeiro Pressed Powder Pigments.
The spirit of this palette is super fun. I’m obsessed with the color story. The product and packaging designs are simply lovely.
The color pigments come in magnetic pans in a tin box. You can rearrange them however you like to your fancy.
I can see Pleasing releasing more magnetic palettes in the future, then we can mix and match our favorite colors depending on occasion, mood, or whatever purposes we want the palette for.
The odd shapes won’t make it easy, but hey, fun isn’t always functional.
The Pleasing x Marco Ribeiro Pressed Powder Pigments Swatch
The recommended usage direction for the pressed pigments are:
- Apply pigments with fingers, brushes, or sponge
- Pigments can be mixed with Gloss Medium or touch of water to create a fluid formula
- All colors are eyeshadows except for the pink, which should not be used around the eyes
I made the swatches using both wet and dry methods, and found that using the formula with liquid increases saturation manyfold and makes things super pretty! Here are the comparison photos:
Metallics and shimmers don’t usually pick up very easily with a brush, so I swatched using my fingers for these photos. When I tried to use this with a wet brush later, I was however able to achieve the same level of pigmentation and color density as on the right, which is impressive and made me very happy!
The formula is good, the color story is unique and lovely, and the design of every aspect of this palette is fun and creative. I really like it and happy recommend it!

The Pleasing x Marco Ribeiro Gloss Medium Review
Moving on to the Gloss Medium, another absolutely gorgeous packaging! The bottle is so classy and beautiful. I can’t get over how nice all the designs for Pleasing are.
For product itself, it’s a tacky fluid that creates the type of glossy eyeshadow looks you might see in a magazine editorial. It’s a creative tool through and through and super fun to play with.
- The Gloss Medium can be used on lips, eyes, and skin, to create radiance and shine
- If used together with the Pleasing’s eyeshadow and pigments, it will give them a shiny, sheer finish.
Here, I added the Gloss Medium to the dry swatches, and you can see just how much dimension it adds to the pigments:
I do have to mention that this is super sticky!
I used my finger to apply these on my hand, and when I was handling my phone, the product got everywhere haha. So make sure to have hand wipes readily nearby. I needed soap to fully wash it off my hands.
With that out of the way, yes, this make the pigments super pretty and immediately creates the type of editorial look that tend to feature this type of finishes!
And so I did a very simple look on my eye—dry pigments plus Gloss Medium—and it was easy to work with.
