Tata Harper‘s Purifying Cleanser was one of the very first products I wanted to write a review on when I first got into skincare. I was so blown away that I thought wow, I seriously gotta start taking notes of how these things felt and looked!

My review on this cleanser’s pros and cons are below:

Cleanser Highlights:

Oil cleansers aren’t usually my thing as they feel runny and messy to use. But this gel-to-oil formula keeps the oil part of it very manageable. It’s a total game-changer that’s finally got me to enjoy massaging my face for the first time.

Since the oil stays clear on my hands, I can see the stuff that come off my face after cleansing. Some of it are specks from the product itself, but I’m convinced that occasionally my sebaceous filaments do get dislodged and rubbed out from my facial massage. It’s satisfying like nothing else, and I kind of just do it while I’m watching TV or something. Always love a product that can change my routine/habits!

My Product Notes

Pros:

  • Texture: Starts as a cool gel. Rub onto dry skin and turns to oil. Fantastic time for facial massage.
  • Scent: The mix of botanical ingredients creates a profile that reminds me of chai tea. Which is lovely.
  • Use: Face feels well-cleansed but not stripped!

Cons:

  • The oil doesn’t fully wash off easily. It keeps my skin feeling supple, but may be a bit heavy for starting routines with. I follow up with a more astringent toner such as By Wishtrend’s Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water or Gallinee’s Face Vinegar, and that’s usually enough to make the face feel fully clean.
  • While I love the scent, it may not be everyone’s favorite. I personally like it and it didn’t set off irritations even though I’m very sensitive to fragrance.

Conclusion

If I could give Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser a thousand stars I would. It’s just so incredible.

The very first time I used it, I was like—wait, is this an instant holy grail?! Let me give it a few days!

Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser: the product texture goes from gel to oil

I was in the midst of purging when I started using it. And in combination with other products, I felt that it kept my skin clear and increased the speed of turnover and made my acne go away more quickly.

My skin is combination with sensitive eyes and strong sensitivity to fragrance. I didn’t notice any irritations. My skin felt good, and there was no stripping. It was so exciting to discover a new holy grail cleanser that’s such a joy to use—even my roommate was converted! There is really no dupe for this, so I seriously highly recommend it. 🌟
