Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop Serum Review

One of my favorite Korean beauty products is Dear, Klairs‘ Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop serum. It has a dual peptides formula and is extremely light and easy on the skin.

This night serum is highly concentrated with 10 core ingredients without the use of purified water to effectively combat various signs of aging and skin damage, improving overall skin texture and appearance. This is achieved by accelerating the skin’s renewal process, which helps to improve the overall health and condition of the skin, and ultimately helps to achieve youthful-looking skin with radiance and luminosity.

Product Highlights: 

According to the brand website, the serum’s main ingredients are its two peptides—EGF (sh-Oligopeptide-1) and bFGF (sh-Polypeptide-1)—that accelerate skin cell renewal and reduce fine lines and wrinkles; guaiazulene: which calms sensitive skin and strengthens skin barrier; and blueberry, a powerful antioxidant that effectively lightens dark spots.

What I love is that it has quite a short ingredient list and has no fragrances.

The product texture is watery and runny, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave skin tacky at all. It’s a wonderful serum that’s easy on sensitive skin and also great for layering with other products.

Usage Results

In terms of immediate results, I noticed that it reduced the redness around my nose, so always a good start. After a few days, I felt like my skin looked more plump and smooth on the half of my face this serum was used on (compared to the other half, where I used something else!).

I gave it a few weeks and I think my complexion looks quite a bit better than before. It’s brighter but not the kind of brightening of skin tones I get with Vitamin C and niacinamide? It’s like I can sometimes see my cheeks being a little rosy after cleansing, which is kind of nice and I haven’t seen that in a looong time. 

Overall I would say my face both feels and looks a bit more youthful and my skin likes it a lot.

I didn’t expect too much originally to be honest, because peptide-based products usually don’t do much for me, but now I’m thinking maybe I just never came across the right ones! So glad I tried this out and it’s been a continued repurchase for me this past year.
